Street Fighter II The World Warrior: A World of Hurt

After buying Street Fighter 30th Anniversary and having a chance to actually beat Street Fighter II, I would like to write about my experience playing the Arcade mode.

Ryu:
What a good starting fighter to learn the game and controls, I honestly enjoy the simplicity of Ryu's design and moves.

Chun-Li:
My absolutely favorite fighter in the Street Fighter series since I was a little kid! For someone who hasn't played Street Fighter 2 in 18 years, her moves and combos are a little tougher than Ryu.

Blanka:
This one is a challenge for me to be honest, both controlling and fighting but it did feel rewarding to defeat him after so much trial and error with moves.

Dhalsim:
This one is a fair fight, not too tough but not too easy. Definitely keep your guard up when fighting Dhalsim! He loves to use his stretch moves quite alot and if you use Hadouken, he will use Yoga Fire against you.

Zangief:
This one felt too easy to fight if I'll be honest, it was barely a challenge fighting Zangief even as Chun-Li. I'd say Blanka was more difficult if I'll be fair.

Edmond Honda:
This one actually caught me off guard, I expected this one to be as easy as Zangief but E. Honda was far from easy to defeat. I wonder how he'd go against Blanka.

Guile:
This one is a pain in the rectum. Guile loves to spam his projectile attack again and again and again, it's to the point I had to go take a break and come back to try again a few more times until I finally defeated him.

Ken:
This one felt as easy as Ryu, like a warm up to what is to come next which is more challenging than I expected. If anything, Ryu and Ken go hand-in-hand on how easy they are to go against.

Balrog:
I was genuinely surprised to see more fighters and stages. This one gave me the feeling of Mike Tyson from Punch-Out!! on NES. Both the character design and fighting him felt very challenging and rewarding.

Sagat:
This one was a fair fight it felt, the only problem I had was a little bit of spamming his "Tiger" attack here and there but I did defeat Sagat with not even a sweat! Another thing is he reminded me of Big Boss from Metal Gear because of the eye patch and tough look.

Vega:
I absolutely LOVE this one! Vega is a character I remember from when I'd play Street Fighter 2 as a kid and he's as wonderful as I recall. Very quick with his attacks like a sort of elegance, you must be careful when going against Vega as he will carve you up like you're absolutely nothing!

M. Bison:
This one is really really difficult, you can't have a single error in your attacks and combos when fighting M. Bison. You have to be really good and use your experience from past fights to win this final challenge!

My analysis:
This is a wonderful fighting game since 1991, definitely a historical mark on fighting game history and I will always treasure Street Fighter 2 as my introduction to fighting games since I was 5 years old in 2007. To me Street Fighter will be my go-to fighting game franchise when I'm in the mood to mash some combos and brawl it out in a virtual setting!
